CA SATISH GUPTA
CA Satish Gupta (Sr. Partner (Tax Litigation) at Gupta Garg & Company), is the most influential tax personality of the taxation domain started his journey in 1981 from a small town Neem Ka Thana in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. Born in a middle class family, he completed his schooling from Government School and secured a B.Com Degree from the Government College in Neem ka Thana. Leadership has been in his blood. He was elected as a Treasurer in the commerce association and was also nominated education secretary of students association during his college days.
Soon after completing his bachelor’s degree, he shifted base to Jaipur, the Pink city to make his career in the Taxation Domain as a Chartered Accountant. He began his Article ship with a Jaipur based firm, S C Mehta n co and was able to clear CA in first attempt in the year 1987 with flying colors. He never deviated from his commitment and loyalty to the ideology of his chosen profession. His passion to study didn’t just end right here. He also secured an L.L.B degree in the year 1986 from Government Law College, University of Rajasthan.
With achieving all the qualifications that were right to lead the legacy of his father’s Tax Advisory Firm, Gupta decided to shift back to his village. He worked there till the year 1992. After returning to Jaipur in 1992, Gupta struck out on his own in CA Practice by starting a partnership firm Gupta Garg and company to focus on tax litigations. In his professional career, he was a curious phenomenon who could be, on one hand, the poster boy for his firm, and on the other, the chief troubleshooter and input provider for the taxation industry, and this he did with utmost dexterity.
His passion to do remarkable reforms for his industry did not remain hidden for long. While serving his profession, he stood up and led various honorary positions
For many years, when it was utterly unfashionable to carry a card identifying one as a tax association’s member, he wore his association’s affiliation like a badge of honor. In Jaipur, that could have meant ostracism for anyone else, but Mr. Gupta was warmly welcomed in all taxation circles and respected. This was a testament to his towering intellect, easy charm and consummate people management. He nurtured them all equally, with his characteristic unfailing civility.
Satish Gupta is a man of ethics who follows a code of conduct far removed from the type of climate he thrived in. That is his brilliance. He steadfastly defends his way of doing and looking at things in the most adverse climates. Yet, he remains loved by all he interacts with. His code does not make him aloof but approachable, loyal, and courteous. A people’s man. Truly a man for the people and of the people.
